Flowerpot Island is a getaway from your getaway because you need to board a boat to get there! The highlight and namesake of this island is its two water-carved rock formations that are in the shape of, you guessed it, flowerpots! Once on the island, explore its natural beauty by taking a round-trip hike from the docks through lush forest, into caves and up to the lighthouse. For the more adventurous hiker, consider staying overnight at one of the shoreline camping sites which include tent platforms.

Flowerpot Island Flowerpots Flowerpot island is one of Fathom Five National Marine Park's twenty islands. The Niagara Escarpment dips far beneath the water and, approximately 6 km from Tobermory later, breaches to create this lush and scenic island that is accessible by private or commercial boat. The island boasts two 'flowerpots', water-carved stone pillars- on its coast. A network of about 4 km worth of hiking trails guides visitors from the dock at Beachy Cove, past the famous 'flowerpots', the sea caves and to the historic light station and restored lightkeeper's home.   Hikers have the option of a shorter 'sightseeing' loop or a longer trail with a varied, and slightly more rugged terrain that continues around the island before heading back to the boat dock.

There is also a side trail that will take you across a rocky beach to another coastal view of the spectacular waters of Georgian Bay. For the more experienced nature-lover, six permitted sites are available for overnight stays.

As far as I can tell, there are no Geocaches on Flowerpot Island itself, but if you are in Tobermory anyways...
